Tvåändsstickat

Tvåändsstickning är något som jag har velat prova på att sticka i åratal utan att riktigt komma mig för att göra det. Mest för att jag har placerat det i den mentala kategorin "svårt". Men efter att ha lyckats lära mig sticka med två färger, kändes det som om det var dags att prova på tvåändsstickning för att faktiskt ta reda på om det verkligen är så svårt som jag trott.

I have been wanting to try out twined knitting for years now, without really attempting to try it. Mainly probably because I have labelled it "difficult". But then again, I thought knitting with two colours would be difficult too, which put me off for years, and in the end turned out to be totally wrong. So now it feels like it is time to actually find out whether or not twined knitting really is as difficult as I perceived it to be.

Kan man ha för många vantar?

Kan man ha för många vantar? jag vet inte, och om jag skall vara ärlig så tror jag inte att jag vill veta;) När jag var ute på nätet och surfade för ett tag sedan fick jag syn på dom här vackra vantarna, och kände genast att jag bara måste sticka dom. Eftersom jag inte redan hade det perfekta garnet till vantarna, så passade jag på att åka bort till KarMa Garn, som just övertagit Garnhärvan, vilket gjorde att dom utökat sitt sortiment på ett utomordentligt trevligt sätt! Här är en bild på det jag köpte, och det ljuvliga orange garnet Aysén Araucania, som ligger längst upp till höger, håller nu på att transformeras till ett par Elinor.

Can one have to many pair of mittens? I don't know, and to be honest, I'm not sure if I want to know:) When I was surfing the net the other day I spotted these beautiful mittens, and immediately felt that I needed to knit them. Not having the perfect yarn for these mittens, I took the opportunity to visit KarMa who just bought another yarn shop which has led to an expanded assortment of very nice and yummy yarn. This is what I bought at this visit, and the lovely orange yarn Aysén  Araucania in the right top corner is now being transformed into a pair of Elinor.

     Jag har fortfarande julklappar att blogga om. Som den här - Selbu Modern till min syster. Eftersom hon  är blondin med långt hår, och väldigt typiska nordiska färger, ville jag sticka den i färger som passar henne, och då blev vit botten och röd mönsterfärg resultatet. Som tur var var också passformen jättebra, vilket gjorde att den och den sitter jättebra på henne. En rolig julklapp att både sticka och ge bort. 

 

I still have unblogged Christmas gifts to blog about. Like this one - Selbu Modern - for my sister. Because she has long blond hair, and typical Scandinavian colours, I wanted to knit it in colours that would look great on her, I chose white as a main colour, and red as contrast colour. The colours and the shape of the beret looks great on her. A fun gift both to knit and to give away.

Stickor/Needles: 2.5mm + 3 mm

Att sticka vantar och mössor är väldigt roligt, och går väldigt fort - i alla fall om man stickar på stickor 3.5. Och piratmönstrade vantar och mössa kan aldrig vara fel.

Knitting mittens and hats are great fun and knits up quickly – at least on needle size 3.5mm. And wearing pirate mittens and a pirate hat could never be wrong.

Garn/Yarn: Merino från Garnstudio

Stickor/Needles: 3.5 mm

Mängd garn/Amount of yarn: 1 skein of each colour to each project
